WonderWorld Group has partnered with the Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity (GCHC) as headline sponsor for their annual ball.
WonderWorld Group have partnered with the GCHC for many years, and not only sponsors their annual ball, but also hosts their annual Neonatal event in their flagship WonderWorld Glasgow venue, and arranged a stall at their first ever Kami Bear’s Teddy Trail this year providing donated goods to help raise vital funds.
GCHC’s goals are to ensure that every baby, child and young person treated at Scotland’s largest children’s hospital receive the extra special care they deserve. The charity recently announced its partnership with Crossbasket House, which provides parent and carer accommodation for the families of seriously ill children.
Crossbasket House offers a ‘home away from home’. Their facilities include bedrooms, laundry & kitchen facilities, including a reading/games room and a softplay area for siblings too enjoy. Sadly, the impact of having a child in the hospital can have on their families’ lives can often be overlooked. Families/parents don’t want to leave their child in the hospital so having the ability to stay close by with a phone connected directly to their children’s bedroom in the hospital can help reduce the stress and worry they may be feeling.
The GCHC Annual Ball took place last Friday the 8th of November in the Hilton Hotel in Glasgow, welcoming over 600 guests into the ballroom. The celebrations started from the minute you walked in with an up-beat and engaging musical performance from Unison Anthems, and the powerful and positive energy continued throughout the night. This year’s ball was to raise vital funds for the Crossbasket House now part of the GCHC Group.
WonderWorld Groups Managing Director, Narinder commented that: “WonderWorld Group are proud to be a supporter of The Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, now including Crossbasket House. As a children’s entertainment provider, we see a direct line that allows us to support a charity that could often help many of the children and families that attend our venues across Scotland. We are proud to work alongside them to help raise awareness and donations so that they may continue to do the incredible work that they do.”
On the night the total amount raised was an astonishing £234,223!!
William McGowan, Head of Partnerships at Glasgow Children’s Hospital Charity, expressed his gratitude, saying: “The incredible amount raised on the night of the Ball would simply not be possible without the generous sponsorship of our longstanding partners, WonderWorld Group. Their unwavering commitment to children and families in hospital over many years is sincerely appreciated by everyone involved with the hospital, and I would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to them once again.”
